Emily Gilligan (Actor)
Emily Gilligan, a Sophomore Theatre Major at SUNY Potsdam, is so excited to be a part of Toad Hall. She can’t wait to meet all her new friends at dinner. Emily plans on continuing her education to teach theater and direct. Emily has been performing since the age of three, most recently appearing as Mama Morton in Chicago and Trunchbull in Matilda. She would like to thank her friends and family for their never-ending support and dedicate her performance to Mr. Clifford Platt. Lastly, Emily would like to remind you, it’s not a fancy dinner party without a fancy hat.
Ash Maxwell (Actor)
Ashanae Maxwell is a senior at SUNY Potsdam majoring in Public Health with a minor in Acting. She hopes to one day create a non-profit organization that caters to Maternal and Child Health populations. She realized earlier on that working with children is something she wanted to do. Ash recently held the position of Assistant director at a Theatre Camp in Brooklyn, New York. Her goal is to run and personally fund her own organization that helps mothers, and their children get whatever help they need and spread awareness through storytelling.
Sarah Wake (Actor, Musician)
Sarah Wake is a freshman here at SUNY Potsdam and is pursuing her dual degree in Literature/Writing and Secondary English Education. She has been involved in theatrical performances since her middle school career and has spent years spreading the joy and love of ukulele playing through community workshops and performances. She is overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement to be a part of this production of Toad Hall. Sarah would like to thank the wonderful team working on this production! Sarah would never attend a fancy dinner party without her biggest and brightest smile!
Avery Tromblee (Assistant SM)
Avery Tromblee is a Junior Theatre Major at SUNY Potsdam. This is Avery’s first full production that she has worked on here at SUNY Potsdam. However, Avery has been doing theatre since 2009 when she was just nine years old. Avery has performed in many popular roles, like Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Ariel Moore in Footloose, Little Red in Into the Woods, and this summer will be The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. While many of her peers will be taking college course next semester, Avery will be doing an internship with the Disney College Program in Walt Disney World in Florida. After Avery graduates next year, she will be doing the Early Childhood Education Graduate Program through SUNY Potsdam to become a teacher. Avery cannot wait to meet all her new toad friends at Toad Hall! One thing that Avery would like to bring to a fancy dinner party is the party decorations!
Alexis Murray (Stage Manager)
Alexis Murray is the stage manager for Toad Hall. She is a senior here at SUNY Potsdam. This is her first time since elementary school being involved with theatre. She is very excited to see how the show goes! Earlier this semester she helped crew the Faculty dance concert here at SUNY Potsdam. Alexis is an arts management major with a minor in design and production. She is looking forward to meeting all the friends at Toad Hall's dinner party. One thing that she would like at a fancy dinner party is some good steak or seafood!
Ashley Laverty (Director)
Ashley is the founding Artistic Director of Kerfuffle, a theatre and dance company devoted to creating performances for children under 6 year olds. Under her leadership, Kerfuffle has partnered with many arts and non-arts organizations to bring aesthetically exciting, engaging, and accessible theatre experiences to children around the country in museums, libraries, parks, and community centers. With Kerfuffle, she has developed and directed The Conductors, Goose and Gert, Nested, and The Caterpillar's Footprint. She is a teaching artist and has 10 years of teaching artist experience, specializing in drama in the early childhood classroom.
